The Federal Emergency Management Agency requires local governments to update their natural hazard mitigation plans every five years. Ottawa has decided to do it every year. Building and zoning official Mat Stafford will host a public input session Tuesday next week from five to seven at City Hall.
Comments can be made until late March. The city’s plan covers tornados, heat waves, cold waves, snow storms, floods, and more.
