Last night the Blackhawks finished off a winless homestand with a 5-0 loss to the Minnesota Wild.  The Hawks have dropped seven of its last eight overall to fall to 16-23-and-7 on the season.  The Blackhawks are now off until next Wednesday.

 

The Chicago Bulls are north of the border to take on the Toronto Raptors tonight.  The Bulls will then visit Indiana tomorrow before returning home.  The Bulls have won two straight and four of their last five to improve to 32-and-18 the season.  They lead Miami by one game for the top spot in the East.

 

The 18th-ranked Fighting Illini pulled another upset.  Kofi Cockburn went off for 37 points as Illinois knocked off 11th-ranked Wisconsin 80-67 in Champaign.  The Illini moved to 16-and-5 and now lead the Big Ten with a 9-and-2 conference mark.  Illinois visits Indiana on Saturday.

 

In other college basketball action, Notre Dame slipped past Miami 68-64, while Loyola Chicago topped the ISU Redbirds 78-64.  Northwestern and DePaul are back in action Saturday.

 

Jim Harbaugh told Michigan that he will coach the Wolverines in 2022, even though he interviewed with the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday.  This comes after Harbaugh led Michigan to a 12-and-2 record, a Big Ten championship and a College Football Playoff appearance

 

The PGA Tour continues this week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at Monterey Peninsula Country Club in California. There will be a number of celebrities teaming up with some of the top golfers in the game. 

 

The US Men’s National Soccer Team bounced back from its loss to Canada with a 3-0 victory over Honduras in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The US remains in second place in the qualifying round.

 

The FBI is telling athletes competing in the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in Beijing to leave their cell phones home. The bureau urged participants to use a temporary phone while overseas.  This is because the FBI issued a warning about dangerous cyber activities that could take place.  They include ransomware and malware attacks
