Construction could start this summer on six-foot wide sidewalks along Rutland St. and Bratton Ave. in Marseilles. Renwick and Associates will design the sidewalks this spring for $64,000. Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says this is a project the city got a $550,000 state grant for in 2020.
Hollenbeck was on WCMY’s Morning Meeting. The sidewalks will go in areas that used to be outside city limits. There were no sidewalks there because there wasn’t much to attract a lot of pedestrian traffic.
