St. Sen. Sue Rezin says the temporary tax relief Gov. Pritzker is proposing is a nice start. She says Republicans are supporting permanent tax relief.
She says Gov. Pritzker is expanding the state government’s spending using federal COVID relief. Rezin predicts a big deficit when that money runs out. Pritzker says the state would have a financial surplus even without federal COVID relief.
And she says Gov. Pritzker didn’t talk Wednesday about replenishing the unemployment trust fund, depleted when record numbers of people were out of work during the pandemic.
