Lieutenant governor candidate says Pritzker call for freezing taxes is election year politics

Republican lieutenant governor candidate Stephanie Trussell says it’s no surprise in an election year that Gov. Pritzker wants to freeze taxes. She says Pritzker is why the taxes are high and he wants to make himself look like a savior.

Trussell says Illinois shouldn’t make getting an abortion so casual. She says when Democrats talk about women’s health care, they’re talking about abortion. She says Republicans want women’s health care to be about much more.

At a campaign stop in Utica today, Trussell said people in most of Illinois are Republican, even though Democrats in a few places seem to outnumber them all. She said Republicans shouldn’t give up. But she says the party has sometimes not done well reaching prospective voters. She says many people in Chicago want school choice, for example, and they don’t know Republicans are for it.

Trussell is paired with governor candidate Darren Bailey. She was in Utica for a Republican campaign petition signature collection event at Jamie’s Outpost.
