A $150,000 donation from Financial Plus Credit Union will go toward the new YMCA in Ottawa. Executive Director Joe Capece says the banking branch will have two areas with their name on it.
They include a child watch area and one of the new pre-school classrooms. Financial Plus CEO Tim O’Donnell says he was a little skeptical about the project at first, but then he saw how the new building will be utilized.
He says for Ottawa to become the city it can be, a facility like this should exist.
The new YMCA will be located south of the Knights of Columbus and elevated above the river.
