The LaSalle City Council will go out to bid to replace a digester at the city’s wastewater treatment plant. The digester breaks down excess waste that could still be in the wastewater.
Mayor Jeff Grove says it’s a good time to go out for bid. He says the bid is due by March of 2022. But the city is looking to go out for bid by February 1st.
Grove says the equipment in the digester has been used for last fifty years. He also says he hopes that a new digester could alleviate the smell if gives off.
