Robert E. Iverson, 82, of Ottawa, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Pleasant View.
Funeral services 11 a.m. on Friday January 28, 2022 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Sherry Stevenson, of Crossbridge Community Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required.
Robert was born on March 31, 1939 in Ottawa to Harold and Bernice (Hausken) Iverson. He was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School, class of 1957. Bob married Joanne Lieske in Princeton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting. Bob was an entrepreneur at heart and especially enjoyed his years involved in the restaurant and bar industry. He owned and operated the Flamingo, Ivy’s and the Vermillion Inn. He retired from US Food Service in 2000. Bob’s proudest accomplishment was his family and his home. There was nothing he enjoyed more than time around his pool with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joanne; three children, Kim (Randy) Parker, Eric (Krista) Iverson, and Jenny Luise Iverson; five grandchildren, Kinsey (Justin) Carrol, Nathan (Dawn) Parker, Jacob (fiancé Andrea) Parker, Rachel (Robbie) Harsted, and Robbie (fiancé Alaina) Iverson; eight great grandchildren, Parker and Sawyer Carrol, Nolan, Nora, and Lincoln Parker, and Rylee, Ryder, and Rowan Harsted; a sister Ruth (James) Dollison of Texas; a niece Kelly (Tim) Morrow; and a nephew, Brian Sergeant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Earl V. Lieske, Sr.; mother-in-law Josephine Liseke; and his former wife Doris Iverson.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Parker, Jacob Parker, Robbie Iverson, Robbie Harsted, Justin Carrol, and Dave Samp.
