People who work on political campaigns in this area are getting used to new legislative boundaries. For LaSalle County, there are two new Congressional districts.
Democratic Congressional District Committeeman Tom Walsh was one of the people welcoming Lauren Underwood to new territory for her last weekend in Ottawa. He says it’s true, people in the suburbs where Underwood is from are different in many ways from people in LaSalle County—even within the same political party.
Christine Benson of Ottawa is also a Democratic Party 16th Congressional District Committeeman. She’s helping the Congresswoman from the 14th District and the people of northern LaSalle County get to know each other.
Underwood has been in Congress for three years.
