Almost half the new coronavirus cases in LaSalle County during the last week were among people in their 20’s and younger. A third of the new cases were among people in their teens and younger.
The LaSalle County Health Department reports there were 1,941 new cases and 499 recoveries for an increase of 1,442 current cases. The increase the week before last was 2,115.
A dozen more lives were reported lost to the virus. Those people were in their 60’s through 90’s. There have been 413 fatal cases in LaSalle County out of 26,656 cases known of altogether. That’s a fatal case rate of 1.5%.
The county health department is urging everyone age five and up to get vaccinated and get a booster when eligible.
