The last weather siren that needed to be replaced in Peru has been approved. The city will pay about $21,000 for the new siren that will be placed at Wenzel Rd. and Rt. 251.

Police Chief Robert Pyszka says when a company came to fix the siren; they said the best thing to do would be to replace it. Pyszka says the siren was fifty years old and although it works, it wouldn’t turn.
