Keep listening to WCMY on Saturday for a double header of Ottawa High School basketball. Starting at 2:30 the Lady Pirates will host Morris at Kingman Gym.

Other games on schedule for tonight: Ottawa is at Plano, St Bede is home to face Bureau Valley and Hall versus Kewanee.

 

Results last night in Girls Basketball

The Marquette Lady Crusaders picked up a win on the road at Midland 41-29.  The JV squad were also winners 36-16.

Seneca were winners at Low-Point Washburn 44-36. Zoe Hougas led the Lady Irish with 16 points and five rebounds.

Serena won at home over Indian Creek 59-22., Katie Baker scored 20 points with five rebounds, three steals and two assists for the Lady Huskers.

Newark defeated Mendota 54-23.The Lady Norseman were led by Kelly Snyder with 14 points, nine rebounds and six steals

Somonauk were winners at home over Hinckley-Big Rock  39-33.

 

The Ottawa Wrestling lost on the road to Sandwich. Landon Marx was the only winner for the Pirates.

 

Elsewhere in sports

The Blackhawks ran their winning streak to three straight with a 3-2 overtime victory over the Canadiens at the United Center.  The Hawks host the Anaheim Ducks tomorrow.

Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat is heading to the NHL All-Star Game.  He was named the Hawks lone representative yesterday.  That means Patrick Kane’s streak of nine straight All-Star appearances will come to an end.

 

The Chicago Bulls look to bounce back tonight when they host the Golden State Warriors.  The Bulls lead the East at 27-and-12, but are now just two games ahead of the Heat and Nets.

 

The 24th-ranked Fighting Illini welcome in Michigan to Champaign tonight for a Big Ten battle.   The Illini sit at 12-and-3 on the season including 5-and-0 in Big Ten play.

 

This weekend kicks off the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs.

On Saturday, The Las Vegas Raiders are at the Cincinnati Bengals and The Buffalo Bills host the New England Patriots.

For Sunday, The Philadelphia Eagles are in Tampa to face the Buccaneers, The Dallas Cowboys host the San Francisco 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers head to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs.

For the first time in NFL history a playoff game will be played on a Monday Night when the Arizona Cardinals will battle the Rams in Los Angeles.  Both the Green Bay Packers and the Tennessee Titans are off this weekend and will compete in round two next weekend.
