The city of Streator has sworn in their new mayor. Tara Bedei was the mayor pro tem, but is now been sworn in as the first female mayor of Streator.
Bedei will be filling the term until 2023, after Jimmy Lansford announced his retirement in December. To fill her seat, the city will be accepting resumes until January 21st at one at city hall.
Bedei says one thing she wants to do as mayor is make the city’s strategic plan more available to residents.
