A woman who taught at Ottawa High School for four decades is one of the people chosen for this year’s OHS Hall of Fame. S. Isabella Sanders graduated from OHS in 1904 at age 16. After completing college studies, she returned to OHS as a teacher in 1919.

She took a few breaks to study at universities, including Oxford in England and the University of Mexico. But she remained an OHS teacher until she retired in 1959.

The OHS National Honor Society chapter is named after her. And she helped start the OHS art collection.

The Hall of Fame induction will be on Saturday, February 5th.
