Peru’s Building and Zoning Department will meet on January 26th to discuss plans to bring a cannabis dispensary to the city. City Engineer Eric Carls says it would be located where the old Jimmy Johns was on 38th St.

Alderman Jason Edgcomb says there should be one improvement to the area where the dispensary would go. He says the city should look into allowing only one exit in the parking lot.

A special use permit was requested by a man named Ryan Atkinson. A lawyer that would be next to the proposed cannabis dispensary has said that they are okay with it.
