The school boards in the Somonauk and Leland districts intend to ask voters later this year about consolidating the districts. A combined school district could save money by having just one principal and by not having to hire as many teachers. It may even be able to offer more courses. A hearing is scheduled for 9am next Monday, January 10 inside the LaSalle County Board room at the Etna Rd. courthouse in Ottawa. There was already a hearing last month in the Somonauk district.
