1929 – 2021
Katherine Louise (Young) Pearson, 92, formerly of Ottawa, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Season’s Hospice in Naperville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Mueller Funeral home in Ottawa, with Rev. David Kipfer, of the Ottawa Catholic Parishes, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Utica. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, at the funeral home. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required.
Katherine was born on November 23, 1929 in Forest, IL to Gilbert and Mildred (Carr) Young. She married Edward Pearson on October 24, 1953 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He passed away on October 8, 2013. Katherine enjoyed gardening, crocheting and sewing. More than anything, she loved being a mom.
She is survived by four sons, Stephen (Laura) Pearson of Wheaton, Howard (Brenda) Pearson of Colton, WA, James (Marla) Pearson of Ottawa, and John (Christina) Pearson of Plainfield; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward, and four brothers, Earnest, Robert, Roy, and Gayland Young.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the donor’s choice.
