John Wolfe Corcoran, 95, of Ottawa, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Pleasant View, surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa, with Rev. David Kipfer, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, at the church. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:45 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral home in Ottawa. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required.

John was born on July 7, 1926 in Ottawa to Richard and Irene (Wolfe) Corcoran. He was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School. John was a veteran of the US Army and served in WWII in the Philippines and Korea. He married Josephine Parat on April 16, 1955 at St. Valentine Church in Peru. John was a carpenter and a member of Local Union 195. He was a member of St. Columba Church, American Legion Post 33, and the VFW. John enjoyed gardening and traveling throughout the US and was a big fan of the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Blackhawks. He loved more than anything, spending time with his children and grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife, Josephine; six children, Joan (John) Armstrong of Utica, Teresa (Ken) Lubanowski of Wentzville, MO, Tim (Christina) Corcoran of Ottawa, Mike (Michele) Corcoran of South Elgin, Ann (Chuck) Havelka of Sanford, FL, and Alice (Mike) Carrera of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren, Nicole Lubanowski, Ruth Ofiara, Amanda Perkins, Kayla Corcoran, Leslie Gayan-Fox, Mia Carrera, Connor Armstrong, Jake, Luke, and Kelli Corcoran, and Rachel Havelka; and three great grandchildren, Madelyn and Adeleigh Perkins and Greta Jo Armstrong.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Richard Corcoran; and a sister Irene Beresniewicz.

Pallbearers will be Connor Armstrong, Luke Corcoran, Mike Carrera, Ken Lubanowski, John Armstrong, and David Perkins.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the St. Columba Church.
