LaSalle City Hall, LaSalle Elementary, and some private property owners are coming to terms on a privately owned strip of land the city wants. It’s south of LaSalle’s Lincoln School. Mayor Jeff Grove says everyone thought the city already owns it.
Grove says it’s important for the city to maintain a publicly owned way by the school. The city will make a new alley with a slightly different layout next year.
The school district will pay the city $10,000, and the city will pay the private property owners the same amount. They’ll get to put up a taller privacy fence than usual.
