Donald R. Slover Sr., 76, of Marseilles, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Masonic Rites at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery with military honors.

He was born on December 16, 1945, in Marseilles, to Clifford and Cora (Penoyer) Slover. On August 6, 1971, he married Phyllis Stevens of Bedford, IN who survives.

Donald served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Marseilles American Legion Post #235 and the Marseilles VFW #5506. He was employed by Caterpillar for 30 years until his retirement in 1999. Donald was a past Worshipful Master of the Marseilles Masonic Lodge #417 A.F. & A.M., member of the Ottawa Commandry #10, and 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason with the Bloomington Consistory. He was also an avid Packers fan.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; a daughter, Stephanie (Rick) Small; a son, Brian (Sue Renkosik) Slover; nine grandchildren, Jeff, Jon, Amanda, Nathan, Sierra, Skyler, Jessica, Cody, and Heather; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Slover.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Donald Slover Jr.; two brothers, Cliff and Raymond; and three sisters, Pearl, Alice and Ethel.
