COVID-19 cases are starting to go up in the Ottawa Elementary School district. Supt. Cleve Threadgill says that right now around 25 kids are in quarantine and about 236 have quarantined throughout this school year.

Threadgill says many of the cases are being found in student athletes in winter sports. He says students who play basketball and wrestle are seeing the increase.

He says right now, the intention of the school district is to remain in person. But he said to the school board that they should be thinking about what to do if a major outbreak occurs.

Board Member Lori Kimes was wondering if the district could to more to test younger kids who could have the virus.
