This month, Ottawa city officials showed area grade school students city facilities for the annual Kiwanis Club event. The event didn’t include a Kids Night at the City Council meeting last year because of the pandemic. But the kids sat alongside the mayor, commissioners, and others to read their lines for them last Tuesday night.
Mayor Dan Aussem’s critique of the Kids Night was that it could have gone better. He says he and the commissioners were a bit rusty after not having it for two years because of the pandemic.
