Employees at Braidwood, Dresden and LaSalle station nuclear power plants have pledged more than $482,000 to 377 charities during this year’s employee giving campaign. Those employees are just a part of the more than $4.3 million that’s been pledged by Exelon Generation.
Locally, some different organizations that benefited from the donations were the Illinois Valley Food Pantry, Grundy Area Pads, and Illinois Valley Industries. Employees at the Illinois nuclear power plants have volunteered over 4,425 hours with the local organizations.
The nuclear electric company says employees have a long standing tradition of supporting their communities, not just with their dollars, but with their time.
