The Indiana man accused of stealing a car in Peru that ended up injuring two people has pleaded not guilty. 30-year old Darion Coleman made his first appearance in LaSalle County Court Thursday.
He was being held in Montgomery County on a different charge, but was recently released on a recognizance bond. Coleman allegedly stole a car at a Shell gas station in Peru that ended up sending a 17-year old to OSF Peoria.
The 17-year old was trying to stop Coleman from stealing the vehicle. A 61-year old also tried to stop Coleman and received minor injuries. Judge Cynthia Raccuglia set a trial date for Coleman to be in March.
