Already accused of one murder, Michael S. Swift is now accused of trying to hire someone to commit two more for him. The 30-year old Mokena man is charged with stabbing 21-year old Grace Taylor to death at her Ottawa apartment in April. Kendall County authorities say Swift worked out a deal with an undercover police officer posing as a hit man during a jail visit with him there. The alleged deal was to kill the judge and a police officer involved in Swift’s LaSalle County case.

Someone closely related to Taylor works for the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department; that’s why Swift is jailed out-of-county. He’s presently in the McHenry County jail. Court records show Swift is scheduled for trial in LaSalle County in February, although that could change if he gets a new judge. Swift is to be in court in Kendall County to enter his plea there in early January.
