James Joseph Fitzgerald, 76, of Ottawa, passed away on Monday morning, December 6, 2021 at the Ottawa Pavilion.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa, with Rev. Gary Caster, officiating. A Celebration will follow at the Knights of Columbus. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required.
James was born on January 19, 1945 in Mendota, to Harold and Florence (Rave) Fitzgerald. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Vietnam. James was retired from the Housing Authority. He was a member of St. Patrick Church and enjoyed to golf.
He is survived by his daughter Toni (Michael) Anderson of Ottawa, two grandchildren Alec Faley and Paige Faley; four sisters, Carol Anderson of Ottawa, Jean (Randy) Kennedy-Zimmerman of Joy, IL, Sharon (Mark) Halm of Cape Coral, FL, and Diane (Frank) Markey of Ottawa and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Rita Fitzgerald.
