A new air filtration system the LaSalle County Board Property Committee wants to install at some county buildings seems to work. An environmental consultant says there weren’t enough ozone and volatile organic compounds in the air in the first place to make a comparison. The county’s paying for it with federal coronavirus relief money. But Steve Szeredy of Midwest Environmental Consulting Services wasn’t asked to test for coronavirus in the air.
The committee wants to install the system in other county buildings. High priority could be given to the criminal courts area and the county’s nursing home because of the number of people who go through them.
