Mary Lou (Shartzer) Hertzner
1955 – 2021
Mary Lou Hertzner, 65, of Utica, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Duane Kaufman, officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m., on Saturday, at the funeral home. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required.
Mary Lou was born on December 3, 1955 in Chicago to Harold and Patsy (Todd) Shartzer. She was a CNA and worked at the Ottawa Pavilion. Mary married David W. Hertzner, Jr., on July 3, 1975 in Pontiac, IL. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, David; three children, Tracy (Jordan) Welling of Ladd, Sarah Hertzner of Peru, and David (Sarah) Hertzner of Oglesby; nine grandchildren, Shane, Lincoln, Xavier, Darren, Constance, Kayleigh, Kason, Charleigh, and Khloe; and a sister Sandy Shartzer of Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Noah.
