The Peru Elementary School District is providing crisis counselors today for students and parents, after the deaths of two students in a traffic crash. The crisis team will be at Parkside Middle School from 10am to noon today (Friday, November 26). Counselors will also be at Parkside and Northview Elementary on Monday.
Twelve year old Leanna Downey-Molina was a Parkside seventh grader. Eight year old Mason Molina was in third grade at Northview. Other family members were seriously hurt and sent to hospitals.
