Oglesby City Council tabled an amendment for compensation pay for the city ambulance department again. Mayor Dominic Rivara says that there were two clauses that were left out of the agreement and no audit was listed.
At the November 1st meeting, Commissioner Carrie Lijewski says that the motion should be tabled because she needed to keep discussing with the ambulance department about the compensation. The city council did approve the ordinance for firefighters to receive compensation pay.
Firefighters will receive about $28.50 per call and Fire Chief Ron Popurella will have his pay increased to $500 a month. Plus they get twelve paid training days each year.
The council hasn’t said what benefits the ambulance department would get.
