The Illinois Farm Bureau says Thanksgiving food is going to cost a little more this year. Members participated in the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 36th annual Thanksgiving meal survey.
AFBF Spokesperson Veronica Nigh says that on average a family will spend about $53 on a full meal for a family of ten. She says that includes the turkey and other foods that people buy for the holiday.
But the Illinois Farm Bureau says costs in this state are slightly higher with a family paying about $58 dollars for a dinner that would feed ten people. That’s about eight percent higher than the national average.
