The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is reminding hunters about Firearm Deer Check Stations so deer can be tested for chronic wasting disease. The IDNR says check stations are located in multiple counties including LaSalle and Grundy.

Hunters need to fill out a sample submission card because the drop sites are self-service. The INDR says they have to only leave the head of an adult deer to be tested.

The I&M Canal Seneca Grain Elevator is open Monday through Sunday on the east side of the District Forester’s office. In Morris both Goose Lake Prairie and Gebhard Woods have drop off stations open Monday through Sunday.

Firearm Deer seasons dates were this last weekend and will start again December 2nd through the 5th.
