A Chicago man is behind bars after allegedly leading LaSalle County Sheriffs on a pursuit. 23-year old Noah M. Bakr is accused of aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer.
LaSalle Count Sheriff Adam Diss says around eleven Friday morning sheriffs deputies tried to pull Bakr over in downtown Ottawa because of some traffic violations. But he says Bakr took off and allegedly lead police in pursuit which went onto Interstate 80.
Diss says Bakr lost control of his vehicle crashing into the north ditch just east of exit 81 near Utica. He says only Bakr’s car was damaged and no other injuries were reported.
He was taken to the LaSalle County Jail and his bond is set at $100,000.
