A Streator woman accused of making up a story about being kidnapped in Ottawa a few months ago missed her court date today. Thirty-five year old Sarah M. Chandler is charged with disorderly conduct. Police say she claimed to have been kidnapped from a place on Ottawa’s north side in August and then held at a house west of the city while her captors demanded ransom. Police say surveillance video from the places where she said the crime happened showed nothing of the sort. When she wasn’t there for a hearing this morning, Judge Cynthia Raccuglia issued a warrant with a bond of $10,000.
