Patricia Sullivan-Viniard, a spokesperson for the Illinois Association of School Boards, explained what the school board, staff, and community in the Ottawa Elementary School district think about the next superintendent should be like.
Current Supt. Cleve Threadgill says he’s retiring at the end of this school year. Sullivan-Viniard says each group took an online survey about what characteristics the new superintendent should have.
Viniard says the IASB also talked to six focus groups about what makes the district unique. She says the one theme that came across the most was Ottawa Elementary School District 141 is like a big district with a small town feel.
