The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recognizes that the coronavirus situation in LaSalle County is improving. But the county’s barely out of orange warning status. The intensive care unit bed availability in the region is 20.3%, just above the 20% threshold. And there are 99 new cases per 100,000 people, barely below the 100 threshold. The seven-day moving average of 104.91 may indicate a downward trend.

Since last Friday, the health department reports no new deaths among LaSalle County residents blamed on COVID-19. That figure remains at 351. The number of currently active cases is down to 808. The health department counted 125 new cases during the last week for 15,418 so far. A previous case was removed from the count after a determination that the patient doesn’t live in LaSalle County. And the department counted 146 recoveries for 14,610 so far.
