A Utica fire fighter fell through a floor into a basement at a house on fire northeast of the village last night. Fire Chief Ben Brown says the fire fighter had minor injuries and was treated and released at St. Margaret’s Health Peru.
The Utica, Troy Grove, Wallace, LaSalle, and Oglesby departments were at a vacant house on N. 32nd Rd. No one was living in the home. The fire was under control in about a half hour.
The Illinois State Fire Marshal is helping investigate the cause.
