Tyler Bretsch, an Earlville native says it was his family that inspired him to join the U.S Navy.
Bretsch is being highlighted as he is serving with the Navy’s Electronic Attack Squadron 139 in Oak Harbor, Washington.
In the attack squadron Bretsch is an aviation structural mechanic, which means he works on planes.
Bretsch says he was hand-selected to support a rescue detachment to repair one of the jets that broke down during a
air show.
Bretsch graduated from Earlville High School in 2019 and joined the Navy after that.
