Parents from across Illinois are suing 145 school districts over COVID-19 rules. They claim school district don’t have the authority to keep kids out of school or make them wear masks. And they say the Illinois Department of Public Health can’t delegate such authority to schools. The lawsuit asks a judge to find that schools can’t take such actions unless parents agree.
Sandwich Community Unit School District number 430 is one of the districts named in the suit filed in Macoupin County. The parents who are suing the district are Kelly McDuffee, Laura Agajanian, Jason Hill, Sandra Koehler, Rebecca Johnson, Kyle Sheley, Heather Johns, and Melissa Dressel.
