Four women who are Republicans and Illinois State Senators expect Democrats to vote to repeal the state’s Parental Notice of Abortion Act. Sue Rezin of Morris says that’s the law that says when an underage girl is going to have an abortion, her parents must be told.
Rezin says that goes beyond what anyone thinks about the morality of abortion. The legislature’s veto session started Tuesday and the issue could come up this week or next. Rezin was joined Tuesday at a news conference with Sally Turner, Terry Bryant, and Jil Tracy.
