The Hegeler Carus Mansion is getting some work done on its stairs and porch.
But Executive Director Cindy Waddick says this isn’t the first time.
She says the original porch was first removed in the early 1920’s.
Waddick says boards being taken off the stairs and porch will be done in the next few days.
She says money will be raised through grant money and donations from people to redo both parts.
She says the reason for the reconstruction is because rain on the porch wasn’t draining.
