Eileen Conroy, 92

Eileen M. Conroy, 92, of Spring Valley passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2021.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Monday, October 18 at Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Spring Valley, with Father Scott Potthoff officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 am, prior to services, at the church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Spring Valley.
Eileen was born May 12, 1929, in Joliet to Raymond and Emma (Brost) Moore. She married David “Gene” Conroy on March 31, 1951; and together they have spent 70 wonderful years. Eileen worked for many years for Montgomery Wards as a bookkeeper. She was active in the St. Bede Mother’s Club, organizing fundraisers over the 15 years her children attended the academy. She was a member of the Choir and Altar and Rosary Society at Immaculate Conception Church and the Nativity of Our Lord Parish.
During her retirement, Eileen cherished spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed following her favorite sports teams, particularly Notre Dame football. In addition, Eileen volunteered for 20 years at the Spring Valley Nursing Home.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gene; five children, David (Susan) Conroy of Oswego, Douglas (Kay) Conroy of Ottawa, Thomas (Kay) Conroy of Florida, Jayne (Terry) Pagoria of Aurora, and Joseph (Cari) Conroy of Elburn; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Lester (late Ceil), Roy (Rita), and LaVern (Sharon) Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter-in-law, Kai Conroy; and her sister, Joan Blahunka.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
