Peru is looking to possibly implement a burn ban

A burn ban is under consideration in Peru.

Mayor Ken Kolowski says the city wants to end all open burnings by 2023.

But Kolowski says it’s going to start off small.

He says the city would start by banning burning’s in the spring of 2022.

Kolowski says this will help the health of homeowners.

He says this public burning ban excludes fire pits and is mainly intended to stop people from burning leaves.

He also says the plan is not set in stone so things are able to change.
