The evidence search in the Jelani Day case went into the Illinois River. LaSalle County Sheriff Adam Diss says a Plainfield Fire Department dive team looked for clues in the Illinois River. The divers found nothing. Day’s body was found in the river near LaSalle last month. The 25-year old Illinois State University student had been missing since late August. Anyone who knows anything about what happened to Day is asked to call 815-433-2161 to report it to the sheriff’s department. Other police investigators involved in the case are from the LaSalle, Peru, and Bloomington police departments, Illinois State Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
