During the next decade, five Illinois House districts will reach into LaSalle County. Republican St. Sen. Sue Rezin says that will make it hard for local officials to get help from the lawmakers who represent them. LaSalle County officials may have to call multiple people instead of just one.
Rezin said on WCMY’s Morning Meeting, she expects the Congressional map to have districts that reach from Chicago to the outer suburbs. She says members of Congress from districts like that will represent the interests of Chicago and Cook County first.
The Congressional district hearings have begun with the next one scheduled for Tuesday.
