Ottawa Festival of Lights parade to go the other way

By Billy Thompson Oct 6, 2021 | 9:38 AM

Washington Square won’t be the main attraction for this year’s Ottawa Festival of Lights. City Commissioner Wayne Eichelkraut says that is where the parade will start. It will go the opposite direction from what people have known for the last few decades. After going down LaSalle St. to the Jordan block, there’ll be a tree lighting and fireworks.

And the city’s doing “Deck the Parks” again. There’ll be a planning session at 5:30pm Thursday, October 14 at City Hall. Anyone who wants to decorate a city park for the holidays can go.
