There aren’t enough certified nursing assistants at the LaSalle County Nursing Home. Administrator Carrie Becker told the County Board’s nursing home committee this week, higher pay offers at other homes are making it hard to recruit. And she’s worried that the eight CNA’s she has will answer ads for those openings.
The eight she has covering all three shifts now would be a more normal number for one shift. Becker’s hoping to use around $37,000 in pandemic relief money that hasn’t come yet to offer bonuses.
