The drug Narcan is used to reverse the effects of an overdose.
The Perfectly Flawed Foundation of LaSalle and Sanctuary Bar are offering an opportunity for people to be trained on how to use it in emergency situations.
Executive Director Luke Tomsha says the training starting next Monday at 4pm at Jack’s Tap in Spring Valley will be for any bartender.
He says that bartenders can be the first line of response to those who are having a hard time.
Tomsha says training will also be at Sanctuary next Saturday starting at 10am.
He says the training can also be for wait staff to learn about what a suspected overdose look like and how to handle it.
