Timothy Geary was named to the Streator City Council last night. The council had a vacancy since Joe Scarbeary left two weeks ago to become the city’s building inspector.
Geary was on the LaSalle County Board for four years starting in 2016. Earlier this year, he ran for the City Council seat that Scarbeary won. Since well more than half the four-year term is still ahead, the seat will be up for election again in the spring of 2023.
