Yesterday was the Interstate Eight Conference Ladies Championship in Golf. Kaneland won the team title with Ottawa placing third and LP finishing fourth. For the Lady Pirates, Zoe Harris earned 2nd overall with a score of  82. Leading the way for the Lady Cavaliers was Grace Antle with a 11th overall finish scoring a 99.

 

Seneca hosted the Tri-County Conference Cross Country Meet. For the third year in a row, the Lady Irish  won the conference title with Evelyn O’Connor taking first and Ashley Alsvig placing second. The boys team finished in second place Austin Aldridge finishing second and Brady Danek taking third for the Irish.

 

Ottawa won on the road at Sycamore in a dual matchup in tennis. Winners for the Lady Pirates, Ella Marvel and Sara Meyer in Singles. The team of  Emma Cushing and Rylee O Fallon and partners Emma Walker and Isabel Heimsoth won in doubles.

 

Streator played host to Reed-Custer and defeated the Comets 1-0 in soccer. The Bulldogs Landon Muntz scored the lone goal in the victory.

 

LP were winners at home over Sandwich in volleyball.  Leading the way for the Cavaliers was Avery Urbanski with 15 points, 13 assists, 10 digs, three kills and 2 blocks.

 

Other results in girls volleyball: Newark defeated DePue, Earlville were winners over Leland and Serena beat Somonauk in two sets.

 

In Junior High Sports.

 

The Shepherd 8th grade girls lost to Channahon 28-11 in basketball. Mary Stisser led the Lady Rams with 6 points in their effort. The 7th grade girls defeated Channahon 39-26. Ashlyn Ganiere scored 29 points and Reese Purcell added 8 points in the Rams victory.
